Our House
Our homes are filled with more than help, they’re filled with hope
Many families travel far from home and spend several weeks or months to get treatment for their seriously ill or injured children – a long time to be away or to divide a family. And, for children facing a serious medical crisis, nothing seems scarier than not having mom and dad close by for love and support. We provide a place for families to call home so they can stay close by their hospitalized child at little to no cost.
Our iconic yellow House on Canal Street opened in December of 1983. It was a beautiful, homey, 15-bedroom home with a huge kitchen and dining room, two laundry areas, a toy room, two dens and an outside patio area—plenty of space for guests to make themselves at home and visit with each other.
In December of 2022, we moved into our larger, more modern space just steps away from Children's Hospital on their Uptown Campus located on State Street and Tchoupitoulas. Our new House has 22 private en-suite bedrooms with baths, in room entertainment, dual laundry facilities, large chef's kitchen, 60+ seat dining area, open play space, library, business center, game room, reading nooks, quiet, cozy spaces for reflection or relaxation, a beautiful back yard with deck seating and picnic tables, a living room, and ample parking for our guests.
