Volunteers are the heart and soul of all Ronald McDonald House Charities and during National Volunteer Week, we would like to express our deepest gratitude to all the dedicated individuals and groups that help make our House a home.
Volunteers help us in so many ways: by assisting in the front office; operating the Comfort Cart program; welcoming new families into the House; performing a variety of housekeeping tasks; making up our guest rooms; cooking and delivering meals; collecting pop tabs and donations; and planning special events for the children.
Our volunteers come from many different backgrounds and age groups, however their desire to make a difference is what brings them all together. We have mother-daughter duos, husband-wife teams, high school and college students, church and business groups and many individuals who choose to spend their retirement serving others.
Every volunteer at RMHC-SLA goes above and beyond by trying their best to comfort our guest families and make them feel at home in a time of uncertainty. Whether offering a kind word, doing a craft with a child, filling our pantry with snacks, sitting with families during mealtime, offering a smile or a box of tissues, our volunteers treat each guest family member as if they were their own.
We appreciate all that our volunteers do each day; however this week, we would like to send our most sincere thanks and gratitude to our volunteers for all that they do for every family who stays at Ronald McDonald House New Orleans. Happy Volunteer Appreciation Week! Each and every one of you truly make a difference!
This week, we will be highlighting just a few of our amazing volunteers and volunteer groups on our social media channels, so be sure to follow along on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter and offer your own thank you’s.
If you can help our charity at this time, it would also be appreciated. Monetary donations and gift cards are welcome
so we may continue to provide compassion, comfort and care to families during this time of crisis and uncertainty.
