“Momo” turned 6 with us this week! She was born with Complex Congenital Heart Disease and was flown to New Orleans from Nigeria with her mom and older sister for her third open-heart surgery.
Her family made our House their home away from home for a total of 52 days. Momo’s mom, Yetunde, said that “We came from Nigeria to New Orleans where we don’t have any family nor friends. Ronald McDonald House took us in and treated us like family, the staff are so wonderful and nice to us. You all will forever hold a special place in our hearts.”
The day before they checked out to return home to Nigeria, we held a small celebration with other families in our playroom with red velvet cupcakes (our birthday girl’s favorite), ice cream cups, and gifts! Momo selected her gifts from our “Magic Room” to mark her 6th year!
