How to Stay

Ronald McDonald House New Orleans

The Ronald McDonald House accepts families of children 21 and under in age who are coming to New Orleans for medical treatment. These families must live at least 25 miles outside of New Orleans.

Out of an abundance of caution for our families, staff, and volunteers all individuals staying, working, and/or volunteering at the House must show proof of COVID vaccination.  Those individuals who have a religious or medical exemption will need to show evidence of such to the Executive Director.

Families may fill out our online referral form or have a referral issued to us by a social worker or another medical professional in the hospital or doctor’s office where they are receiving treatment.

Once the referral is received, it will be filed under the date the family is due to arrive. The family MUST confirm with us as early as possible on that day. All rooms at the Ronald McDonald House are on a first come, first serve basis. We do not reserve any rooms prior to receiving a confirmation from the family.

If a room is available, you will be asked to check in by 8:00 pm. If this is not possible, special arrangements can be made with the Executive Director.

Our hope is that you can find the Ronald McDonald House to be a pleasant and comfortable home environment while your child is receiving medical treatment in the hospital or in out-patient care.
