At the Ronald McDonald House New Orleans
When sick or injured children are sent to New Orleans-area healthcare providers, families are often uprooted at a moment’s notice to an unfamiliar city with little support. Ronald McDonald House Charities® of South Louisiana provides needed support to these families by offering a comforting home environment, meals, transportation, and the opportunity to find comfort in sharing their experiences with parents going through similar difficult situations.
We only ask for a suggested donation of $10 per night from our families, but the cost to us is significantly higher. Given the enormous costs of their child’s medical care, only about a third of our guests are able to pay anything at all; however, no one is ever denied a stay at the Ronald McDonald House due to their inability to pay.
Our 15 guest room facility provides room, board, and transportation to hundreds of families of ill or injured children each year. Our services allow parents to focus their resources on healing their child, not on where to stay, what to eat, or how to get around an unfamiliar town.
We are offering the opportunity to support our work through the adoption of one of our facility’s guest rooms or common areas. Our guest rooms become a home-away-from-home for an average of 585 families every year. Your sponsor plaque will be seen by hundreds of guests, volunteers, and visitors in our kitchen, dining room, and other common areas.
