What is the maximum number for a group of volunteers?
With COVID-19 restrictions still in place, for social distancing purposes, we only allow 5 volunteers for Meals from the Heart preparation.
Do we decide ourselves what to prepare or are we told what to prepare?
You decide what to prepare; however, please visit our website HERE for Dinner Guidelines and Meals suggestions. (Please note that we are at storage capacity on the following meals Spaghetti and Jambalaya).
Do we provide the ingredients? Cooking equipment? Serving materials?
You will need to provide your own ingredients; however, we do provide cooking equipment and meal storage containers and safety labels for your use. Currently, we are preparing the meals grab n’ go style due to COVID-19.
Is everything prepared onsite?
We prefer that the meals are prepared on site; however, meals prepared off site, in a commercial kitchen are gratefully accepted.
Are we made aware of allergies/ dietary restrictions beforehand?
We ask that you call at least 24 to 48 hours ahead of your scheduled meal service date to obtain meal count and dietary restrictions.
How many people are being served?
Varies depending on number of families in the House at the time of your meal service. Please call ahead 24 to 48 hours prior to your scheduled meal service date.
Does everyone in our group need to make an account on the website and sign up?
Yes, to keep account of who is coming and on what day, we ask that all individuals sign up through our website using our volunteer portal, you can access it HERE.
